WALK OF SHAME GOT FOULED

STOP!...playing a normal basketball game!

I don't have a whole lot to say about Saturday's Kentucky/Vanderbilt game that hasn't been blown to bits by everyone else.  My comments are these: I'm glad Kentucky won.  Vandy did not look comfortable at all in any phase of the game to me, and I think a lot of that had to do with Kentucky's defense.  The refs took the game hostage early, pretended to give it something to eat, and then took it away again while cackling at the broken look on the game's face.  I hate it when refs ruin what should be a good game.  Hopefully the teams will actually get to play in a few weeks down in Nashville.  The cool part of the game, obviously, was that LeBron was there.

I made the mistake of listening to a call-in show in Louisville this morning about DeMarcus and his flying elbows and whatnot.  That guy probably didn't actually watch the game enough to notice that Cousins was getting the crap smacked out of him by Steve Tchiengang and Festus Ezeli when they were in.  I'm convinced the only reason Steve T. was even put in was to poke on Big Cuz.  That's okay.  But you can't expect an 18 or 19 year old kid to not get a little pissed off about that strategy after a while.  He'll have to keep it cool, because it's only going to get worse, but the manufactured uproar by UofL sports radio hosts is really uncalled for.

Other highlights:  UK's non-con opponents are doing their worst in attempts to tank Kentucky's seeding for the NCAA tourney.  Teams everyone thought would be good W's for the Cats all lost: Louisville (yay!), UConn, UNC and IU.  Gross.  UT won a real barn burner against Florida despite Pat Summitt's lovechild's most sordid attempts to prevent it.  Also gross, but helpful for the SEC's position for NCAA bids.  Oh, and South Carolina tried reeeeeeeally hard to piss me off and lose to Georgia at home.  I guess they only try against one or two teams per season.

A nice win for the Cats. Cousins is a stud, and we won't get into the flying elbows because there's no way we can agree.

Most impressed with Kentucky's shooting. If they light it up in the manner they did, it's going to be pretty difficult to beat the Cats anywhere.
